Hope you’ve all had a fab March and are looking forward to the Bank Holiday weekend.
LITTLE PLUG FOR BIG NEWS!
We’re ridiculously excited because we’ve got our new website up! Thanks to the team at Vivid for creating a fab site. It all looks good – we’ve now got to start it working for us so that new people can find out how great we are!
WE BLOGGING WELL ♥
We also have a blog that will sit alongside our new site. We’ll be putting updates on here regularly, from the whole team at Talking Heads (not just me). So if you simply cannot wait for your monthly updates, visit http://headstalking.blogspot.com/ and subscribe. You’ll get the extra titbits straight to your Inbox, as well as this main news-letter each month.
FAB VIDEO ON YOUTUBE – HOW MANY CAN YOU SEE?
The guys over at Circle Creative & coy-com.com have created an animated look at television advertising – it’s great to watch if you’re a fan of clever advertising – how many references can you spot? (Clue – it’s at least 70). Visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWGCc_tqHi0&feature=player_embedded to watch.
TALKING HEADS FEATURED IN XBOX MAGAZINE
Talking Heads have contributed to a feature in the April '10 edition of XBOX 360 magazine (http://www.oxm.co.uk/). We're the first ones to admit that we're not fanatics of gaming here at the Talking Heads office! However, we were able to assist the guys over at the magazine with some translations and transcriptions for a feature on foreign battle cries that feature in Modern Warfare 2. The mag is on the shelf now if you want to see our name in glossy print (page 120). I’m glad to see that the article has created some healthy debate about the exact translations. As was pointed out in the article, it’s extremely difficult to tell what is going on in a video game sound effect! Some interesting translations on the comments section on the site...

BORED OF PLAIN OLD GREETINGS CARDS?
Visit http://www.postcarden.com/ where you can encourage indoor gardening amongst your friends and family by sending them a mini (paper) greenhouse! My favourite is ‘Botanical’.

SOME SILLIES TO END THE NEWS...
Quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig. The English language, eh?
If there’s anything we can help with; Translation, Interpreting, Language Training (or even just a small query over the phone!) you know where we are…
