"I find the service that you provide very user friendly. The staff are always helpful and polite and interpreters have always been available when I have called. I would definitely recommend this service to others."
Shalini
In the often unsettling, highly sensitive and emotional area of Social Services, you’ve taught us that it’s absolutely essential that everyone involved has the correct skills. Maintaining a completely professional attitude, being clearly aware of their role and treating all information with total confidentiality are issues just as important as their language skills and at Talking Heads® we ensure that all our linguists are aware of this.
The team is experienced in working with Social Workers, Care Workers, Nurses, Medical Professionals, Psychiatrists, Solicitors and family members, often on highly sensitive and complicated cases.
Talking Heads® are also uniquely placed to help in other ways. For example, in the relatively small, migrant communities that develop, based on regional differences and languages, locally-provided Interpreters may themselves come from that same community and know the clients personally. This, of course, can cause a ‘conflict of interests’ and be highly ineffective. In such a situation, because of the very wide database we have and continue to develop, we often have access to individuals outside of the community thereby ensuring that you can be secure in the knowledge that your Interpreter is completely un-biased and is carrying out their job as a communication ‘tool’ without any other issues creeping in.
When you book an Interpreter we will send the most appropriate, qualified and /or experienced linguist. Our Interpreters are also fully briefed on what to expect from a Social Services appointment and we aim to provide them with as much background information as possible.
Overall, we’re confident that the Interpreter that is sent to your appointment will be an invaluable part of your process.
Talking Heads® can also translate all case documents, letters, reports, etc.
Contact us now – we know it can be tough sometimes, and we’re here to help!
